CyberSafe Start of Term.

Engage your students with cyber safety and keep your institution safe from cyber incidents.

If you're a Higher or Further Education institution, cyber security is no doubt top of your list of priorities.

Your IT teams are hard at work, you’re rolling out institution-wide cyber security features and you’re updating your digital strategy to make cyber a focus for years to come.

But with 9 out of 10 cyber incidents happening due to human error, can you afford to leave your students without the knowledge and confidence they need to manage their cyber safety?

Introducing our CyberSafe Start of Term programme

Our CyberSafe Start of Term programme is designed specifically for students studying in UK Universities and FE Colleges and gives them the foundational knowledge they need to manage their own personal cyber safety, both on and off campus.

By investing in your students with the cyber basics when they join your institution, you’re reducing the likelihood of them compromising your network, and giving them skills for their future life, study and work.

What does CyberSafe Start of Term include?

For your one-off investment, you will receive a complete communications programme, including:

  • 4 x engaging animated videos for your intranet, website and internal digital screens designed to alert students to cyber issues they will face, with tips on how they can stay safe.

  • 8 x short videos designed for social media so you can capture the attention of your students on key cyber topics as they scroll through their social feeds.

  • Written communications materials for your internal communications channels, including content for your Start of Term webpages and handbooks, IT intranet hub, student channels and even social media posts.

  • Complete internal communications plan for the campaign that will be tailored to your institution's channels, frequency and needs.

  • A workshop with your IT communications lead or team to explain how the campaign works and to answer any questions they may have.

Don't just take our word for it...

“Talking about cyber at the start of term helps us quickly make our students aware of the importance of working, playing and socialising safely online, and does so in a way that makes sense to them.

“We’ve been working with Inside Out for a few years now on developing our cyber safety campaigns, and the results have been fantastic. Cyber communications and engagement is now a very important part of our cyber security strategy.”

John Hemingway, CIO Durham University and UCISA CIO of the Year 2022.
